RFP-2017-01 – Comprehensive Review of the County’s Sustainable Communities Official Plan

The County is commencing a review of the Sustainable Communities Official Plan (SCOP) adopted by the County on June 27, 2012 and approved by the Ministry of Municipality Affairs and Housing on May 28, 2013.
The study will evaluate alternative directions for growth in the County. The County will rely on the study to determine whether there is planning justification to support an Official Plan Amendment to expand settlement area boundaries, particularly in the Municipalities of Carleton Place, Mississippi Mills and Perth.
The County is aware of the requirement under the Provincial Policy Statement to undertake a comprehensive review in order to justify any settlement area boundary expansion. The County acknowledges that the comprehensive review must be undertaken in accordance with Section 1.0 of the 2014 Provincial Policy Statement.
