The Corporation of the City of Pembroke has issued a tender for the Foster Fraser Bridge Rehabilitation Tender Contract No. 19-162.

Hard copy sealed tenders, clearly marked as to contents, will be received by Ms. Diane Schofield, Deputy Treasurer, City of Pembroke, Operations Department, 460 River Road, Pembroke, ON, K8A 1A1 until 2:00:59 p.m., local time, Tuesday, May 5, 2020.

Tenders will not be opened in public. Unofficial bid results will be emailed to all those who submitted bids, shortly after tender opening. Language of tender submissions is English.

Construction consists of scarifying and overlaying of existing concrete deck, new waterproofing and paving over structure, partial depth concrete removals and overlaying of existing concrete sidewalk and curb over bridge deck and wingwalls. Replacement of bearings, existing bridge railing with new concrete parapet walls, expansion joint assemblies, approach guide rail, approach sidewalk, curb and gutter and approach asphalt including roadway granular. Full depth concrete removal and reconstruction of bridge deck ends and approach slab ends, miscellaneous concrete repairs on the substructure and miscellaneous landscaping work. Anticipated construction start date is June 1, 2020, with an approximate completion date of August 28, 2020.

Cheques should be made payable to HP Engineering Inc. Tender sets will be available for pick-up beginning on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 during regular office hours (8:00am to 5:00pm).

All questions relating to this tender request will be received in writing up to and no later than 5:00 pm local time on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

The successful bidder will be required to file with the City of Pembroke the specified bonds and insurance within ten (10) business days of being awarded the contract.

The procurement of goods and services specified in the tender documents is subject to the provision of the Canada Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) and the Ontario-Quebec Trade and Cooperation Agreement (OQTCA).

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all tenders. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
